One of my favorite miracles: Man Cannot Save Mankind I once - TopicsExpress

One of my favorite miracles: Man Cannot Save Mankind I once had this inner struggle of how do you die to self? One day I point-blank asked God, “How does one die to oneself?” Moreover, I admitted to Him that, “I don’t quite understand this.” Now you have to know that I was not really expecting an answer nor was I expecting to receive one even so quickly. Nevertheless, immediately the Holy Spirit flooded my mind with an answer. He gave me information instantaneously and this is the message that flooded into my mind: The message was that man cannot be glorified because man cannot save mankind—whether it is celebrities, evangelists, CEOs, political leaders, or whoever, because ONLY JESUS can save mankind. So, by glorifying men it only leads us to destruction when we blindly follow the ideas, views, and ways of men. When this happened I thought, “Wow, that is truly profound and I can understand that.” It was so clear to me—man should not be glorified in any way, because men cannot lead men to true life. So that understanding, for me, made it easier to see the importance and significance of giving up “self.” We cannot save each other. Acts 4:12 says: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. When we put other men up on pedestals because of their knowledge—whether they are well-known talk show hosts or political leaders and we follow after their teachings and ideas—we are not focusing our attention on the One who really deserves our adoration and admiration—Christ who alone can save mankind. This is not a new problem—men have followed men to their eternal demise for centuries. Men have followed Adolf Hitler and his leadership. Men have followed scientists like Charles Darwin to disbelieve in intelligent design. Men have followed popular cult leaders like Jim Jones. How many times in the past and present, do men mistakenly follow other men and their philosophies that lead people away from Christ? Who alone can save mankind? This error is more prolific than ever because communication is more easily accessible to greater numbers of people than ever before. If our complete focus is not on Christ, then we are doomed. John 14:6: says: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by ME. We can more easily die to ourselves when we admit that we cannot save ourselves or anyone else. Our disease is a sinful “self” and the only cure is death to that “self” and life through Christ crucified. Isaiah 31:1: Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Isaiah 45:21-22: Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from that time? Have not I the LORD? And there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Philippians 2:6-11: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Jeremiah 17:5-8: Thus saith the LORD; cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
