One of my favorite story gimmicks is when two opposing characters are forced to help each other. They end up learning that they arent so different after all - and usually something fun comes out of it. Of course, when its over, just like in sitcoms, everything seems to go back to normal, but you remember it - and isnt that really what its all about? When I was a kid, I called this the Benson/Kraus in the freezer moment.
