One of my friends in the Ministry Tinomuvonga Shumbanhete had this to say about Music. THE ISSUE OF MUSIC WE LISTEN TOO I know this issue is a taboo for most Christians and I know there are several doctrines to it but there is a different dimension to the story. usually it has been attacked from a judgmental way such that most of us have rather rebelled against getting rid of it. I have realized listening to GOSPEL MUSIC EXCLUSIVELY has helped me in several ways. 1. first of all listening to gospel music at all times helps your spirit to be always alive to God`s things. it keeps alert spiritually. 2. I realized that with gospel music in your ears every time it is like listening to a sermon every minute because normally gospel artists preach the word as they sing 3. Listening to gospel music saves you from sinning against God. this is because in the atmosphere of a gospel song there is the supernatural presence of God. For that reason you will not be able to dirty stuff because you will be conscious of God`s presence 4. Listening to gospel music at all times refreshes your mind from thinking sinful and dirty thoughts. in other words your thought patterns become changed because gospel music is filled with the word of GOD. 5. Some revelation you need are from gospel music so if you are always listening to gospel music it will compel you to meditate upon God`s word and in doing so God will begin to give some intense revelation 6. Gospel music even saves you in times you are down with problems of life, it helps you to keep trusting in God and it encourages you to keep on holding on God. Listening to Gospel music always and all the time will have a tremendous effect on your spiritual growth as a person. Remember Romans 10vs17 " Faith comes by hearing.....". You`re what you listen to. If you listen to POSITIVE THINGS you develop your FAITH. And if you listen to NEGATIVE THINGS you increase your FEAR.
