One of our colleagues, purchased a brand new Tata Indica diesel version car in Vizag an year back from an Indica dealer. The car was giving frequent problems. The dealer was attending to them and rectifying the problems on and off. When the problems continued, our engr got the car checked by a local mechanic & found that the car was a used car, ran for thousands of Kms and refurbished by the dealer & sold by cheating to our engr. Our engr verified from the Tata Motors call center that the car was 2 years old as verified by the chassis no or VIN. Our engr filed a case in the consumer court and the case is pending for final hearing. We are hopeful that it will be in favor of our engr. In view of this, I was searching for a site that gives us the make & model no of a new vehicle. The following link gives a very important info reg the VIN.
