One of the biggest mistakes I see people do is follow protocols - TopicsExpress

One of the biggest mistakes I see people do is follow protocols that are not appropriate for them. Specifically when it comes to enhanced or natural individuals. I guess it leans more on the side of natural athletes using a protocol that works fine and is suitable for an enhanced athletes but is far from optimal for them. A number of dietary related protocols and macronutrient balances that naturals use are not suitable for them. Enhanced athletes can get away with having a lower fat intake, they require a higher protein intake than naturals, they have less need for refeeds, if using insulin for instance there are a number of carbohydrates based consideration that are used particularly around training and many more. Natural athletes can not get away with many of those things nor are some necessary or beneficial in anyway. Same goes for training. Training ability, recovery, intensity, load management & volume requirements are all enhanced on PEDs. It is also why particularly in bodybuilding that enhanced athletes can get away with training one muscle group a day and make muscular gains. Natural athletes training one body part once a week really are not doing themselves any favors. I do however believe that enhanced athletes would be far better off training muscle groups more frequently as well given their enhanced status and ability to recovery plus the heightened protein synthesis part of the equation. But what happens is you get the special snowflakes who use the less than optimal protocols and still achieve results (all be it not as good as they could but still better than most) and it continues the cycle of the same old misguided protocols to be used regardless of athlete type. That is also the reason the vast majority of lifters get less than great results and actually waste a lot of years worth of training. Many enhanced and natural lifters could be doing things far better. But unfortunately many are stuck in the idology of what has gone on in years gone by rather than catching up with modern day science and knowledge. Knowledge equals power. Physique does not equal knowledge.
