One of the joys of teaching for many years, is getting to make connections with many of my former students. It is also great fun to connect with the kids we taught in LakePointe Bible Study on Sundays, Counseled for many years at Summer Camp, and Mission Trips Camping in the mountains of New Mexico. Two of the nicest young kids I taught, Shannon Anderson and Jeremy Wheeler, are now married and the parents of four great children. Today, what joy it was to witness, along with the congregation and everyone online, at 9:30, the outward testimony of Megan and Madisons profession of their acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Savior, a few years ago. They, joyfully, were baptized to show the world that they are not ashamed. As, parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, and former teachers looked on, it was a GREAT day for all! What more could I want for all my kids than that they, AND their children would not leave the baby Jesus in the manger. NO! They would realize that He came to this earth because He loved every single one of us and that He loved us soo much that He was willing to die on the Cross so that we would not have to die. We could live in Heaven eternally. He knocks on the door of our hearts asking to come in and live there if we would just admit that we are sinners and His Way is better than our own way. A family that bases their life around Christ will be successful because it is a life based on Solid Ground. Oh, that is my prayer!!! Jeremy and Shannon, may God bless you, as you continue to guide your family with Christian Principles. And may God bless you, Megan, as you get ready to go back to school in January, so that you would be a witness of the love of Jesus in your heart. You may be the only Jesus some kids see. Madison, as you go back to practice, and school, what a light you can be for the Kingdom. It will not always be easy in the heat of battle, but you have something different that many others dont.
