One of the many horrible things about losing a baby is having to - TopicsExpress

One of the many horrible things about losing a baby is having to explain to everyone why you are no longer pregnant. I rarely share personal information on Facebook, however in this instance, I feel it will make things easier. So here goes; Yesterday at 5:20pm, after a gruelling 7.5 hours in labour, I gave birth to our beautiful 14 week old baby. We have had a fortnight from hell, after finding problems on our 12 week scan, to having placental tests done in Cardiff. On Friday afternoon we received the results confirming that baby has Downs syndrome and then at 3am I started to miscarry. After a day in hospital we then found out that baby wasnt ready to go, and due to babies poor health, the doctors gave me a tablet to take and booked me in yesterday induce labour. Glangwili dealt with the whole process and were absolutely fantastic. We had a lovely service for baby and even managed to get tiny hand and footprints to take home. This is the second baby we have lost in 5 months now and its been a very tough and long road. My husband had been a rock and amazing throughout, despite trying to deal with his own pain too. Now its time to give my body a rest and focus on my beautiful family. I am back at work as per normal from tomorrow morning and Im very much looking forward to seeing all the smiley babies and lovely mummies that I am so blessed to have in my classes. Theres no need to treat me any different from normal, Im totally ready to be back at work. See you soon. Xx
