One of the more unusual #31 cars NASCAR has seen: the Gene Stokes Studebaker. Gene drove it himself in the 1961 World 600 and failed to finish, but Frank Sessoms ran the car in a couple 1962 races and did get the car to the checkers. Frank finished 17th in the Arclite 200, 40 laps down. He also ran the car at Myrtle Beach and finished 12th, 41 laps down. Unusual, yes. Competitive? Not so much. :-(
