One of the most special evenings of my life. Many of this species, along with so many others, are endangered due to poaching of the eggs for one. La Flor beach had 100,000-186,000 eggs laid over the course of July -Nov. Thankfully La Flor was made a conservation site in 91 but there are still many people who poach the eggs. Education and more conservation is needed to protect these rare and beautiful sea Sisters and Brothers. We witnessed hundreds being born, nest after nest, like the beach was throwing up baby turtles. Only 1 in 100 survives. That is why we must do more to protect them. Top Left: first moments breaking through sand, Top Right: working hard to make his way to the beach, Bottom Left: basket of babies to be released they were caught during the day so they wouldnt be eaten by birds or prey, Bottom Right: throwing up hundreds of baby turtles. Feel so grateful and blessed to have held one, kissed its little head, and sent her on her way. These are mini miracles and I am forever grateful to have witnessed it. #journeyofayogini
