One of the saddest stories weve seen comes from the World Wildlife Fund, a fellow nonprofit working to defend endangered species. Since 1970, we have now lost over half of all the animals on the planet. Some populations of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians have suffered much bigger losses, with fresh water species declining by 76 per cent since 1974. The remaining animals may not have sufficient biodiversity for survival. For reasons like this, PLACE believes that the destruction of the environment is a moral issue.
