One of the things I am commonly asked is, how much of what I do is - TopicsExpress

One of the things I am commonly asked is, how much of what I do is actually candid. The truth is pretty much none of it. I am firm believer in the rules of posing the face and how to light it. As someone who grew up conserving film because it was an expense, I have always tried to only press the shutter when I knew I nailed it. I look to create can din moments by angles of the face, changing emotions and of course creating a story line. These five images of the bride leaving the limo show that story. The one thing they have in common is identifiable angles of the face and consistent lighting patterns. The story unfolds from pose 1-5. The are all shot with the Nikon #d4s and the 70-200mm VR II 2.8 lens. I am shooting at ISO 200 1/100 sec at 2.8. My white balance is set for house with shade. I had the limo pull directly underneath an overhang to diffuse light. The images are finished with Kubota Image Tools Instalooks actions. They are cropped 10x10 size The specific angles of the face are 2/3 view and profile view. The camera height for all portraits is above eye level.
