One of the top fun things about Thelma & Louise, is taking them for walks around the property. We usually stay pretty close to the house but the other day the girls, our resident Lil Diva (in her pink boots), and I took our longest walk yet up to the upper part of the property, around and back down. Im still amazed and annoyed how close the goats will stay to me as we are walking. I am constantly trying to step around or over a goat, usually my Louise, (Thelma belongs to the Lil Diva lol) But it is great that they dont take of running I guess. Lol There was nothing truly eventful on this walk, which is good for a first looooong walk. Just a beautiful day with gorgeous weather. The girls are VERY good about coming to me when I do my little tongue click for them. Or at the very least sparing me a glance over their shoulder just in case I have food for them. the walks are to get them some exercise, but also to keep them trained to stay with and listen to us. At 8 months old now, they are happy healthy little turds with still another 8-10 months before I can breed them, then wait for babies, then Ill be able to start milking them. So over a year still before they truly begin earning their keep.....I think I need to have a ready to milk La Mancha doe join my little herd in the spring.....
