One of the worst days Ive had in a very long time. Today I lost my job at Almost Heaven. I usually wouldnt broadcast an event like this but man..........it really cuts deep. I put so much hard work and dedication into that job and I actually loved going to work everyday to see all the customers aka friends that I had made in the short year since I started. As adorable as the place is, the owner has a reputation for being hard to get along with and was fired for absolutely no reason. I guess this is me venting and also a chance to tell everyone that I met through the coffee shop that I will miss them dearly. I got a bitter taste of reality today and also a reminder that most people dont really care about others......not even during the holiday season....they dont care how many times you have rushed in to cover shifts and to ensure that your establishment was open to put an extra few hundred dollars in your pocket while you pay me the bare minimum. They dont care about single moms trying to make ends meat for her boys and spending long hours and late nights away from them without having to be asked twice. Apparantly it doesnt even matter that I was pulling over 40 hrs a week in this place, hula hooping at their events and having a smile on my face no matter what. Thanks for reminding me that no matter what...... I was still just the hired help. Just a peasant. Expendable. Replaceable. And that....I dont matter.
