One thing I realize as time passes by, is how much more difficult it is to rebuild or repair a relationship thats been left untouched. Its not that its actually difficult, but its easier to ignore what actually feels uncomfortable. But for how much longer? The most intense hug Ive ever received in my life was the one from my dad. No words were being said during that moment, but just the sound of my fathers tears and his shaking body: his reactions were more than enough for me to clearly understand his unexpressed and tucked-away feelings. I was on my way back home on a plane, and I remember not being able to stop my tears during the entire 3-hour flight. It was a life- changing moment- I needed to step out of that comfort zone so that I could finally understand what it feels like to be truly comfortable with my father.
