One thing comes to mind when I see another headline about black teen shot dead by police. Whos it important to that this teen is black? Would you read the article if it didnt say black teen? Are we all charged up with expecting racism? The news may sensationalize it, but the fact still remains. If it said white teen shot dead by police would you read that also? The truth is whether you consider yourself racist or not, somehow were drawn to it whether by curiosity, human interest, or prejudice, we dont see the tragedy of a teen either lost in such a world, choosing to be there, or simply a innocent life ended too soon. Our worldview always biases us because all of us know that if you treat certain people better because of who they are, you also treat certain people less better because of who they arent. Its not always the presence of one consciously, but also the absence of another subconsciously. Just a thought.
