One thing ive learned from one of my professors is that how we could be of help to the deprived, depressed and the under served (DDUs).. What is our point of entry? is it about livelihood? technology transfer? or whatnot instead of teaching these people to become beggar, teach them some skills to start making a living... As the saying goes,Teach the people how to fish instead of feeding them the fish in a spoon fed fashion. what happened yesterday was worth praising however people may have an illusion and probably will always pray that there should be always manna to come down from heaven...instead of helping themselves and initiate how to make a living they would just be depending from benefactors, donors and philanthropists to save them from starvation... thats why there was chaos, trying to catch for the free ration in a form of charity.. besides exposing themselves to public how pitiful they have become...Good there was no stampede that ever happened...there should be needs analysis before one could embark in this kind of enterprise...
