One thing most schools of economics agree on is that the state cannot own and orchestrate all commerce. There will be no price signals, economic calculation will be impossible and there will be a loss of all efficiencies. However, why is it that some of these people acknowledge that a state-organised economy would fail for the aforementioned reasons yet swear blind that without regulation, one or two corporations would swoop in and assume control of the whole economy? Megacorporations will fail for the same reason socialism fails; economic calculation is impossible. -Mr. Pink.
