One very important advice I give to Mummys of ICU babies is not to be intimidated by your surroundings, remember this is your baby, just being cared for many, ask questions, find out what you can and cant do, remember staff presume someone has informed you, remember always you have a say and have a right to know everything that is going on. My little girl was special care for her first 2 days, no one told me I could visit her or stay as much as I like with her, thankfully she pulled through, but imagine if she hadnt I hardly had seen her, all cos I didnt ask the right questions
