One year ago, my favourite #Mexican #EnduranceAthlete ran the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon in 3hrs 57min (average 5:37 min/km). After a dedicated year of #AerobicEnduranceTraining and #AnaerobicStrengthTraining at Kinesio Sport Lab, Alberto will be running the Ottawa Marathon tomorrow in an expected 3hrs 10min (average 4:30 min/km). From a #Health and #Physiology perspective, there are many benefits to training at #KinesioSportLab. For example aerobic endurance training has a significant positive impact on the size and strength of your #heart. A stronger, larger, heart will pump more oxygenated blood per beat, per minute, to your brain and working muscles, which in turn makes you feel like you can #RunForever! Your #MitochondrialDensity will skyrocket! Resulting in improved #MetabolicPathways for #FatMetabolism and a #Leaner #Meaner #BodyComposition. When you combine this with an appropriate strength training program for those weakened or imbalanced muscles, you will improve your muscles ability to talk to each other as they carry you across the finish line. Proper strength training also helps with #InjuryPrevention and improves #RunningEconomy. Not only will Alberto be running a faster race tomorrow, he will feel less pain afterwards and have a happier finishers photo. If you are wanting to train for your fastest race EVER, contact Kinesio Sport Lab to arrange an initial consultation.
