One year ago this month, extremist Republicans in the House shut down the government in a radical attempt to force right-wing policies on our country. They lost that battle. Now the extremists who led that fight -- like Steve King -- might even lose their seats. Steve King -- the infamous congressman who outrageously claimed that al-Qaida will be dancing in the streets once Barack Obama was elected president -- is on the ropes. Jim Mowrer, a progressive Democrat running against King in Iowas 4th Congressional District, is just THREE points behind in the most recent poll. We can beat Steve King and put a stop to his hateful rhetoric but only if DFA members step up now and put some people power behind Mowrer and other strong progressives running in critical House races across the country. Theres less than a month to go to Election Day. Will you chip in $3 now to support Jim Mowrer and other progressive fighters taking on extremist House Republicans? Conservatives in Congress have waged war on the poor and the unemployed while blocking progressive efforts to raise the minimum wage and protect womens rights. Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are promising to shut down the government again next year to pursue that radical agenda -- unless we show Republicans their actions have consequences. Seat by seat, we can show these radical right-wingers that if youre more interested in hostage-taking tactics and waging a war on the poor than actually governing, you shouldnt get to govern. John Foust in Virginia, Manan Trivedi in Pennsylvania, and Kelly Westlund in Wisconsin are, like Jim Mowrer, running in seats we must win if we are to build power in the House. Theres just four weeks left until Election Day. Will you support these progressive House candidates and start taking America back from the extremists? Chip in $3 now! Thank you for standing up to the extremists. - Jim Jim Dean, Chair Democracy for America Paid for by Democracy for America, democracyforamerica/?t=1&akid=5392.2342153.7x5sV6 and not authorized by any candidate.
