One year ago today, I had my open heart surgery to replace my mitral valve. It is a day that I wish I could forget and one that has changed my life forever. Yes, I am alive and doing MUCH better than I was then, but I was changed a little bit and even a year later, am coming to terms with all of that. I want to thank everyone who has stood by me during this past year, because I know I have been difficult, not myself, have faced many highs and lows (very very deep dark lows) and all kinds of confusion, fear, and every other emotion. I have lost some people along the way, though also gained some. My work has changed a lot and is thriving and I have one person to thank for that; he knows who he is. Thank you to Glen Osterberger for never leaving my side and bearing the brunt of all the craziness. I dont even know what else to say. There is too much. Thanks to Adam Pick for creating the facebook support group that has kept me from going completely insane and also introduced me to all of the wonderful people like me, that I found there. Too many to list, you all know who you are! From last year, thank you Kathy Babula (you ARE a therapist) and Donna Raley Outwater for being my texting buddies when I was serving my time in the hospital. It was a long 18 days. Thank you Jonathan Stalcup and Eric Chin for visiting me and bringing me things and talking. And Felicia W-h for the rainbow sock monkey :) Thank you to my wonderful parents Richard Raley and Helen Raley for all that you did to help. Love you so much. Thank you Melissa Jordan Humphrey for coming to see me last November and for the note you sent me for when I woke up. To those of you I am not able to see today to help celebrate this anniversary....we will meet soon and do it then :) Chad Baker I miss you so much and wish you could be here. Thank you from keeping me from going completely insane. Thanks to the Snapdragon as well. ;) and Danny McBride I wish you could be here as well. But we will meet very soon. I know youre the new kid on the block but thank you for letting me talk about things and for being awesome. I wish all of you could be here, friends and family. I miss you all and will see you soon! I might make an annoying ticking sound now, but Im here!
