One year ago today I woke up with what I believed to be gout in my toes.. I have had gout on occasion over the years so it was no big deal to treat and be gone in a couple of days. In less than 24 hours this infection spread to over two thirds of my body leaving me swelled and immense pain. Here I was just a few weeks removed from Chemo treatments for prostate cancer. Unemployed and no insurance. I was completely bedridden for over two weeks and suffered through hell for almost six months. The Chemo had left my immune system so depleted that it was easy to contract a major staph infection which could have been deadly. The Luprin had taken a worse toll on my body than the Retuxin did with the Non Hodgkins Lymphoma back in 2006. Today I wake up Cancer free, infection free with EVERYTHING functioning normally with the exception of a few seizures and headaches from living with Multiple Sclerosis for over 23 years. I thank GOD for the opportunity for a new life to be able to live healthy and enjoy everyday considering a year ago I was not sure, or actually pretty sure that death was just around the corner. One of my boyhood heros Mickey Rooney just past away this last week at the age of 93.. I hope to and plan to out live that.. God willing.. I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend :) and remember to tell your love ones that you love them everyday.. Appreciate your friends because if you dont you may lose them and respect all of mankind.. just because they have different skin tone, religious beliefs or political beliefs, etc. doesnt mean they still dont bleed red too.. Jesus Christ, my savior, bled red for me almost 2000 years ago, setting the example that we are meant to bleed red for each other.. maybe not physically but by caring and just being there for each other and setting the example for new and further generations until he comes again to lift up into his heavenly kingdom.
