One year from the time when I was duly elected by the greater Makaton-on people as Mayor, I can wholeheartedly take pride in the fact that because of our tireless efforts, our beloved town of Makato has become one of the most improved and beautiful towns in the Province of Aklan wherein our achievements have been duly recognized by local, provincial, regional and even national officials. The first year of my administration was quite challenging as we inherited a lot of problems and we had to face unavoidable politicking but because of my unwavering faith in the blessed Santo Nino, the support of Provincial officials and the mandate of the thousands of Makaton-ons who chose change, we have overcome these trials and we can finally start to feel change and rapid development especially in the aspects of the local economy and people’s livelihood. These positive changes this year in our town are sufficient reason for us to celebrate the upcoming Feast in honor of the blessed Santo Nino. We should honor and thank our Santo Nino for his countless blessings He has showered our town. The Santo Nino has been our steady defense against destructive politics and is our guide to following the straight path and the right way. Just like last year, we have planned various activities for our town fiesta that will be truly enjoyed by our townsfolk, balikbayans and even tourists. We have made our fiesta celebration bigger this year and expect livelier, more colorful and more fun Ati-atihan festival which originated right here in Makato. Let us dance to the rhythm and the beat of the drums and hold our heads high in taking pride with our tradition, culture and local history. Rest assured that in the next years of my administration, I promise to do everything within my power to personally work for the prosperity and development of our beloved town of Makato, which should have been delivered long ago and the people deserve.
