Ones Right to Peace: Being at peace is ones right, but why isnt - TopicsExpress

Ones Right to Peace: Being at peace is ones right, but why isnt it always so? Being human doesnt cause this, being controlled by a mind that is conditioned to believe that everything is as it appears makes this so. Life is full of many things that have the potential to take one from their place of peace. Traffic, people, certain circumstances, needing things to be a certain way, God, children: ours or others, people who post things that arent agreed with on Facebook, this list goes on and on. But it doesnt have to be this way, we are the creators of the list. It can be empty if thats what one wants. There may not even be awareness of a list, but nothing just pulls one from their place of peace, it has to be allowed. So why this is allowed to happen is because there should be nothing worth more in life than ones peace of mind, but this is not the case. And because most people have never been taught how not to allow this to happen. The list is made because this is what one has been taught to do. One of the most difficult things to learn in life is how to stop ones own mind from taking them from their place of peace. It sounds simple, just dont allow it, but the Conditioned Mind has the upper hand because of the deep seated roots of its origin. It has been developing since ones existence started, maybe even before then. It goes back far and its roots are deep. So this is ones dilemma, to first understand why the list is made. Next one will have to identify the conditioning on the list, and lastly, one will need to understand why there was a need to create the list in the first place. Once there is awareness of this, it will be possible to start eliminating the things that take one from their place of peace. But if the things that take one from peace arent identified, one will be at the mercy of whatever conditioning the mind has developed. It is the mindset of the masses to label addicts as the ones who use certain substances, but we are all addicts and the real addiction is to ones thoughts. If you dont think this is so, try not attaching to your thoughts, see if it can be done. Without practice it is virtually impossible. This is so subtle one will not even know this attachment is happening, until one day you do. This awareness makes the entire dynamics of a persons existence different because with the understanding of what takes one from their place of peace, one can stop allowing this pull and be at peace more often than not. And isnt this what everyone is truly looking for?
