First time when the Janata party had unleashed the monster of Mandal commission on India, there was no way it could have lost an election. It had done its calculation immaculately and created out of thin air an electoral bloc. It had finally the answer to Congresss muslim bloc - a perpetual vote giving ATM. Little did it know that in the inscrutable markets of India, Lord Onion was preparing to deliver a thunderous blow. When the blow was delivered, Janata party was sent hurtling into oblivion and Indira Gandhi came back to power despite having the sin of emergency on her record. Now I see Lord Onion getting enraged once again. It has its thunder-staff (onion price) raised and about to be hurled on Congress.
