Only a few people in my world will appreciate this. Home made bird food. Also human edible. Think tabouli. Start with a 2:1 grains to legumes ratio for a complete protein amino acid profile. This batch Includes mung, lentil, adzuki. The grains are barley, winter wheat, kamut, and spelt. All sprouted. All soaked for min 8 hrs, then Legumes are sprouted until at least a half inch tail and grains are sprouted as well. Then each are boiled for ten and simmered for twenty. Strained and dried well. Then add approximate the same quantity of veggies. Heavier on the dark leafy greens and orange veggies. This batch includes kohlrabi leaves and dandilion greens, kohlrabi bulb, green beans, cauliflower, parsnip, carrot. Mix well, and then add supplements which includes wheatgrass powder, alfalfa powder, calcium/mag supplement to balance the calcium phosphorous ratio because veggies are naturally high in phosphorous, kelp powder for iodine, and finally some fresh ground flax seed for omega 3 fatty acids, because the legumes are higher in omega 6 fatty acids and we want a 1:1 as much as we can. Everything is put into a food processor to make it impossible to pick out favorites. When I serve this it is heated up, then I add a tiny bit of fruit. The reason I dont add it to the big batch is because fruit is wetter and it makes it very soggy. So I add the fruit at serving time. So for us humans we could continue to grind this up into a liquid and have a super nutritious drink or. .. Add some herbs and spices, saute it with a little butter and yum!!! Side dish!!! But here is a few photos of my kids. Checking out this weeks batch!! And yes I do this weekly for my birdies!!!
