Only in Israel: A few minutes ago I was rushing home, after spending the day with my kids and my father Rabbi Eckstein and Joelle. It is close to Shabbat, so I might have been driving a little fast on the highway. A police man pulled me over, and I explained to him my situation. Sir, Im sorry I was a little bit over the speed limit, but I need to make it home by the time the sun sets. Otherwise, I will have to park my car and walk home with my three kids, since youre not allowed to drive on Shabbat. He looked at my license, made sure my kids were buckled (which of course they were), wished me a Shabbat Shalom, told me to drive safe, and let me go. Baruch Hashem, I arrived home with enough time to share this message with you before Shabbat....now Im off to light the candles and shut down. Its times like these that I appreciate so much, just how wonderful it is to live in our homeland. Shabbat shalom, friends!
