Only two things do not do to me, then I will not hide myself from - TopicsExpress

Only two things do not do to me, then I will not hide myself from You: withdraw Your hand far from me, and let not the dread of You make me afraid. (JOB 13:20-21) I find it interesting that Job is secure enough in His spirit to know that when God removes His hand from someones life, that is a super dangerous place to be. As bad as things are, he still realizes they could be worse if God were not in his life. Troubles will come. Trials will always be there to sharpen us, but if we continue to trust that even though what seems to be chastening, without Him then we would be lost! Job insists that he will continue to run to Him. The other thought, of the dread of God causing him to be afraid, is perhaps more common of an occurrence than we may suspect. When trials of life seem to be coming in wave after wave, we often believe that ANYTHING negative or difficult is due to God chastening us. Sometimes this just isnt the case. We cant walk in fear that God is this mean, angry , correcting father thats just waiting for us to mess up. This is the opposite of the truth! He loves us so much and we cant even comprehend it. Sometimes He does want to bring correction in our lives but to think Hes just waiting on your goof up is ridiculous. We must come to the same resolve that Job did. V.15 Though He slay me, yet will I serve Him. The trials are for a purpose and it may not only be for you but for someone who is watching you! He is there. He hears you when you pray. He loves your resolve. Hang in there! Blessings!
