#OpSafeWinter Lancashire 2014 ***PLEASE*** can EVERYONE who sees this, SHARE it It costs NOTHING to SHARE but by SHARING you will help us create awareness for the Help The Homeless - Christmas Feast - 24th December 2014 Were hosting a feast on Christmas Eve with a whole variety of festive food; housing advice; hot drinks; warm clothing; hair cuts; emergency provisions like tents & sleeping bags; were even giving our old mobile phones to people who could put them to good use. An old phone thats left in your drawer can make a huge difference to someone who needs to contact landlords; support agencies etc. As were a self funded project that doesnt have any funding whatsoever, we rely on donations we get from our own volunteers and the kind public who have visited our page or have got involved in helping at one of our street kitchens. We desperately need people from local businesses; community groups; religious faith groups and people from all walks of life to come together in what will be a special day to remember. Looking after those who are not fortunate to have some of the things we have. Were also hosting #TheRuckSackProject on the same day which is where you can get an old rucksack, fill it with some items for a #homeless person like: tinned food; cereal bars; hat/gloves; tent; waterproof clothing etc and drop it off at one of our drop off points which are located around Lancashire and then it goes to someone who has nothing. Anyone can get involved in this and if your community group; school or college wants to get involved then please get in touch Please share the event: https://facebook/events/947019941979247/ We desperately need sleeping bags; tents; pump action flasks; bain maries; soup kettles; fold up tables; tea urns; coffee/tea; powdered milk/coffee mate; rucksacks; old phones and whatever else you can think of that would help someone in need. What would be great would be for every single landlord who had available properties in Lancashire... To turn up with tenancy agreements; keys and housing benefit forms... If anyone knows of any estate agents that would be willing to waive their fees and take a council bond-scheme for a deposit... Then PLEASE get in touch If you have a donation for us, be it a set of gloves your nan has knit; a few tins of tuna and bags of pasta; an old coat; a camping stove; water carrier or whatever... Please come along to any of our drop off points across Lancashire. Currently, you can drop any donation for Help The Homeless - East Lancashire at: Nelson - Toast Of The Town Cafe, 14 Manchester Road, BB9 7EG between 8:30am and 2pm Monday - Saturday (Ask For Stephanie) Rossendale - Atrium Legal Services, Suite 9, New Hall Hey Business Centre, New Hall Hey Rd, Rossendale BB4 6HL between 9am and 5pm Monday - Friday (Ask For Sally) Clayton - The Fuzzy Duck Food Company Unit 3, Walmsley Court, Clayton Business Park, Clayton Le Moors, Accrington, BB5 5JQ (Ask for Mark) Burnley - Beauty Box 6 Rosegrove Lane, BB11 6HX between 9am and 4pm Monday - Friday (Ask for Billie Jo - Small items only please as theres hardly any storage here) Colne - The Commercial Public House, 2 Skipton Road, BB8 0NN between 8am and 8pm Monday - Sunday (Ask for Maggie) If you know anyone who owns a catering business whod be willing to prepare some food for us; anyone who knows of any retail shops that might donate some Christmas food like mince pies or even a Turkey!?! Maybe you know someone who has a farm or catering business that might even be able to prepare some food for us? Please ask around at all of your local takeaways; cafes and restaurants so that we can offer the homeless the best meal theyve had all year.
