Operation FOCUS This is a program to complement Senate Bill sb200. I wrote it in collaboration with long time friend Tony Marshall. This program targets primarily first time youth offenders of non-violent crimes. It is a 90-120 day Big Brother Big Sister mentorship and faith based. A juvenile Judge must recommend a youth candidate to the program, and the parent/guardian must agree. A schedule for the youth candidate will be maintained from beginning to end, the youth candidate will meet with tutors for school homework assignments, there will be a review of report cards and progress reports, and assistance will be given with any drop in grades. The candidate will learn acceptable behavior and adhere to a strict dress code. The youth candidate will be instructed on the meaning of personal responsibility and respect. Home economics, money management, and taking part in job shadowing will also be requirements. In general, the youth candidate will be instructed in some of life’s basic skills. At the successful completion of the program a progress report will be sent back to the juvenile Judge for review. * Please look for other informational posts regarding our campaign!
