Operation Railblaza StarPort HD to Barracuda Kayaks beachcomber Complete! After being left to my own devices at Railblaza HQ I have just completed my install of the new StarPort HD to my Barracuda sea kayak. These pics show how I have used the new mount behind the seat, primarily these will be used for camera positions with the addition of the TracPort 500 for times when I need I carry extra gear like the visibility kit etc... This mount is particularly solid for the likes of the barracuda vacuum formed lightweight plastic which has a little more flex than some roto molded yaks. Any flex effects the footage when cameras are out wide or up high on a kayak but this should fix that as it feels rock solid in the factory test and even more so with the TracPort. I have made up backing plates to spread the load even better (used off cuts of kayak plastic) .. For the forward starport I have used the standard starport flush mounted ... This is perfect for the lower profile camera boom 150 and as a rod park or trolling position. Hope to get out on the surf tomorrow to test these out.. Stay tuned :-)
