Operations Manager-MOZAMBIQUE approx MZN 110,000/$3600pm + car + fuel + phone Our client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in Mozambique. The Operations Manager assumes overall responsibility for the companies operational inland container depot (ICD) activities. The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class. Outline of duties: Manage all operational activities at the ICD such as gate and yard activities including stuffing and stripping of containers. Design and maintain operational procedures for the ICD to ensure quick truck turn-around times and other efficiencies to deliver a high quality product. Implement the operational procedures. Ensure employees are trained and procedures are followed. Assist in designing, implementation, and maintaining HSES standards for the site in accordance with local legislation with the main aim to reduce any harm or injury to any person on the site, the environment, and company assets. Managing and checking all inventory records and making evaluation reports. Setting and allocating targets to operational staff and organizing staff training. Auditing daily labor and billing statements. Design, implement and maintain effective workshop procedures. Day-to-day responsibility for all container and cargo handling equipment in the ICD. Report on the activities to the General Manager on an ongoing basis The employee is expected to demonstrate the following behaviors at all times: Display the highest levels of responsibility and accountability Pro-active management style.
