Operators at La Salle County Generating Station, Brookfield Township, took Unit 2 offline midnight Sunday to perform scheduled maintenance on the condenser, a piece of equipment that condenses steam back to water for reuse in the plant. While the unit is offline, additional maintenance activities will be performed to ensure safe and reliable operation during the remainder of the operating cycle. There will be no impact to area customers during this outage. La Salle Unit 1 will continue to supply electricity to the area while Unit 2 is offline.
