Origin of Bazlama Recipe Bazlama has originated from Turkey and is traditional Turkish bread. This village bread used to be cooked on outdoor ovens in Turkey. This bread can now be easily prepared at one’s own home with the help of a heavy cast iron pan on the hob. Ingredients and Methods of Preparing Bazlamas Bazlama is mainly made of refined flour, yeast, yoghurt, salt and water. The preparation of this Turkish flat bread involves properly dissolving yeast, sugar, warm water. This mixture is then added to flour and yoghurt. Adding some more warm water, the bazlama recipe is kneaded into soft dough which is kept covered with a damp cloth or a greased plastic to fragment for 3 hours at the room temperature. Once, the dough rises up, small portions are cut from it, dabbed in some dry flour and then rolled into circles which are then cooked on both sides one by one by putting on a hot cast iron pan or a medium heated griddle.
