Originally the home of Frank L Pendley (1907) acquired under the Homestead Act in 1910. He planted his first apple orchard in 1912. Today it is a 43-acre apple farm located inOak Creek Canyon. The park is also known for its famous Slide Rock. "....a stretch of slippery creek bottom.." That is for sure! You will see in the pics how many faces are made just trying to keep our balance as we fall into temperatures of at least 63 degrees at about 3 pm. First foot in the water took your breath away. We had so much fun!
