Osun on my mind: good evening folks. Now that the good people of Osun state have spoken in clear voice with a high decibel, I have to congratulate them. I will also congratulate the governor and also his co contestants. However, I say kudos to President Goodluck Jonathan for taking a stand for democracy. He refused to be intimidated and moved our democracy forward another stretch. Also, the security agents who gave their maximum support to the cause of the people. The winner here is democracy. Now in the next four years the opposition will take a look and talk but government will be run by the elected. A lot of lessons are learnt here. 1. democracy has come to stay.2. Presence of high policing is actually due to the failure of our political class to conduct themselves within the ambits of the law. Now we dont have stories of ballot box snatching or stuffing and votes cancellation, not because our politicians have repented but they know they are under intense watch, failure which they are confronted with a grave consequence. This isnt ideal, but in our present circumstances it is imperative. 3. The people have regained their voice. 4.For democracy to survive we must tolorate each other. In a nutshell, I remain resolute, Nigeria has grown beyond the imagination of our ardent critics, the challenge is for us as a nation to leverage on the achivements so far and pivot to greater heights. Long live Nigeria.
