Other thrusters ? Can you imagine other propulsion method for future Earth to orbit space ships ? Other that rocket or jet engine engines? Yes I can. This device consist of two basic elements. 1. One is ionic toroid swirl generator 2. Superconducting electromagnetic propulsion. In short. Ionic generator create swirling permanent vortex in the shape of toroid surrounding the space ship. Fast moving ions create electromagnetic field that interact now with superconducting coil to produce trust - force upwards. For atmospheric ascent existing atmosphere is used to create vortex , for vacuum operation any kinds of matter could be used injected into vortex. Combination of single or multiple vortices could be used. Specifically configured multi vortices should also offer to travel trough atmosphere or even liquids within their own bubble to avoid friction at high speeds. To overcome required power restriction of the space craft the vortex could be perfectly feed on by external microwave or laser beam from the ground or above. Even more, Vortex itself could serve as antenna /receiver and transfer energy to space ship. At this case ship ascend on the beam and no on board fuel and energy source ( that add to the mass/weight) is required. Vortex could be created and sustained by atmospheric components alone or contain active artificial mechanical ingredients . For example cloud of solid material micro balls made of material and internal construction to enhance external control. If we made them of permanent magnets for example - will be easy to control by magnetic field. From carbon - absorb microwaves, conductor- generate own electromagnetic fields, radioactive materials(?) -generate own energy. Interestingly such vortex in open cosmic space could have poses self regulating properties! If micro granules are radio active and poses both attraction properties to itself - on closer contact should produce more energy , then in effect centrifugal forces disperse granules more apart, then cool down and attraction force get them closer again.
