Ottawa County Republican Campaign Committee Newsletter: Absentee Ballots and Excitement. September 29-October 4 Up to a third of the Michigan electorate votes by absentee ballot. These are being mailed out and returned promptly which means voting is already under way. It is time for us to get excited and to get the county electorate excited! The Ottawa County GOP Executive Committee met last week and took steps to improve the process of reporting county convention results to ensure fairness for all. Last week’s Sunrise Club had a record attendance and a whole lot of enthusiasm by our workers. We’ll meet again this Monday, September 29 at 7:00 am at the Ottawa GOP Holland Office. We will be finished by 8:00 AM. All volunteers are welcome! For daily updates with pictures and upcoming events check the Ottawa GOP Facebook page. We’re working hard to make this a timely and engaging source of information. Our volunteer needs this week include: making friendly reminder calls; office reception and yard sign distribution; calling absentee ballot voters; and organization for our voter guide delivery. Jenison Office: Cynthia Davis is heading the Jenison office at 2874 Port Sheldon. The phone number is 616-250-5539. The Jenison office hours are Monday 3-6; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 1-6; Friday, 1:00-3:00, and Saturday, 10-1. They already have had two enthusiastic open houses and are putting plans in place for our voter guide distribution. Grand Haven Office: Colette Jolie and Mary Jo Schuld head the Grand Haven office at 1830 172nd Ave. in the D&W Plaza. The phone number is 616-250-2995. The Grand Haven office hours are Monday 10-2; Tuesday 1-5, Wednesday 3-7, Thursday 1-5, Friday, 1-5, and Saturday, 10-2. This is an important office and is actively looking for volunteers that want a Republican victory in November. Northeast Ottawa: Luke Meerman and Dirk Kraai are the Co-Chairs in Northeast Ottawa. They’ve already started taking our “mobile office” to various locations in the north east part of the county. They are also planning a major rally at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 11 in Coopersville with our US Senate Candidate Terri Lynn Land and Congressman Bill Huizenga! Director Jim Barry is in the office each Monday-Friday afternoon at 513 E. 8th St. in Holland. The office phone number is 616-396-3791. Next door, the Michigan GOP office is being run by Holland native and Hope College student Justin Moralez. Justin and his team are making calls to absentee ballot voters and are knocking on doors. Justin can be reached at [email protected]. Finally, we are looking for volunteers to assume leadership roles for parts of the Holland/Zeeland region.
