Our Commissioner Bill Pratt is heading up the Lawrence County Bicentennial Project (2016). As part of this even, Bill Pratt wants to recreate the original Burlington Court House. When completed it will used as a community building for Burlington. The following is a post from Bill to his committee members: Finley and I visited our architect today in Wheelersburg. We are having a basic rendering done for our courthouse project. When money is available we will have the artist rendering and the architect plans ordered. In order for the building to be used afterwards as a community building we have instructed the architect to make the it 40X80. I felt it was important to have a usable structure. That would allow seating up to about 180 or so. We will keep it as close to the look as possible. For instance the roof structure and cupola will be the same. The entryway be the same as well. The extra space will allow for two handicap ready bathrooms and a kitchen area.
