Our Cultural Challenge All of the experiments and great utopian visions of the twentieth century--none has provided viable and hopeful answers to the basic questions of life. But there is a way, an answer. It is the time-honored way that you and I know: the gospel, the Good News. God created us, spoke us into existence; then we fell because we rebelled against His Word; and yet He has redeemed us with the blood of His Son. This God gives us the opportunity to restore the culture that we live in. As ministers of the gospel, you are not only to preach the Word, though, yes, you are to do that always in season and out of season, faithfully and truthfully. But you also are to take the Word of God and apply it to every single area of life. I have discovered that the more I am able to preach the Christian truth against the false values and beliefs of our culture, the more I am seeing skeptical and doubtful people begin to wake up.
