Our Great Teachers of St Pauls High School, Hyderguda : Amongst the profound teachers we had in the late 60s & 70s at St Pauls, I want to write about Ms Sultana teacher. She was sober, articulate & marvellous . She knew how to handle students - both the hyper active as well as naughty ones. Her teaching methodology was simple, immaculate & straight from the heart. She understood the wavelengths of the students & taught Biology with a rare elan, superb command over the subject & forthright expression. She was humility personified & students found it very comfortable to get the doubts cleared from her. Whether it is about the structure of an Amoeba, or Photosynthesis or the Respiratory system, the way she took the class was gripping & innovative, at that point of time . As a result, the concept became crystal clear & knowledge she imparted was deeply ingrained in us. You can understand how I am able to recall what we learnt 4 decades ago. I used to score very well in Biology & owe everything to her in that field. Today, when I try to understand some aspect of Pharma or Biotech or Nanotechnology, I can relate it to Sultana teacher.
