Our Holiday tune today in our 25 Days Of Christmas comes from a Texas blues singer and pianist ... Charles Brown, co-wrote, along with Gene Redd, our featured song today, in 1960. Please Come Home For Christmas made the Billboard pop charts the following year at #76 ... the next year it bubbled under the Hot 100. Then in 1963, it began a string of ten consecutive years reaching the Top 10 on the Christmas Charts, including #1 in 1972. In 1978, the Eagles covered the song and it became an instant hit, reaching #18 on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then, it has been a regular visitor to the Christmas Charts.
