Our Opinion Is That.... There are those people claiming to champion youth empowerment and one of the means to do so is by assisting them take advantage of the 30% slot offered to them by the law under procurement laws. However, in order to get any procurement renders, one has to own or belong to a registered company or business enterprise. Unfortunately, most of the youth cannot afford or find it expensive to register the companies they so desire due to inadequate financing and/or the long process involved that compels one to go and spend some days in Nairobi to get such a business entity registered...not to mention corruption. Our take is that this should be eased by every county taking up or empowering itself the role of registering companies operating under its jurisdiction. This will be a major pro-active move that will not only desire the process is cheaper but accessible and therefore for a reality. Is any MP, Governor, Senator or MCA listening….or even UhuRuto government? Let’s ALSO devolve registration of companies and businesses!
