Our Republic is dead. The fears of our Founders, too much power being wielded by those farthest removed from the people, have been brought to fruition. Harry Reid and the 52 elitists who voted for this must be arrested for treason TODAY! The power of the Senate was the absolute lynchpin that kept this country together! This very issue was the reason behind The Great Compromise of 1787! Our Founders feared that if the power of the Senate was too far removed from the people that the corruption of the Senate would result in absolute Tyranny! That is why the majority of the legislative power resides in the House of Representatives and NOT in the Senate! This is why the Senate needed a 2/3 vote! To keep them in check!! To keep appointed Senators from literally ruling this country by simple majority vote! The only reason we are a country today is because of the provisions of the Great Compromise which keep the power of the Senate in check. We are now the very edge of the line that was drawn in 1787! And the Democrats just crossed it!!! RH
