Our Turn - BRAVE Project: Last week’s first ever Teen Talk event - TopicsExpress

Our Turn - BRAVE Project: Last week’s first ever Teen Talk event at Capital High School showed us again how hard the folks at the BRAVE Project are working to try to connect with young people in Baton Rouge. This local law enforcement group is trying to make a difference by reducing the number of violent crimes committed by teens, convincing them one-by-one to make better choices. Obviously, this is no easy mission, and we were reminded of that fact earlier this month. The 16-year-old accused of killing three teens and wounding another had been identified by the BRAVE Project as being in need of counseling, which he did receive. The BRAVE Project’s crime reduction statistics are impressive and speak for themselves. We applaud them for the collective results but also for the individual victories of every young person who gets diverted onto a better path. That’s Our Turn. Now, it’s your turn.
