Our beloved brother we lost during this Christmas season! Don had - TopicsExpress

Our beloved brother we lost during this Christmas season! Don had some unique gifts and talents--he was a great mechanic, and was a perfectionist, according to his brothers in the Lodge. If he does something, he wants it done RIGHT, and I can definitely relate! He served in Vietnam, did road construction for several years, and was a mechanic for the City of Texarkana for 14 years, I believe, before retiring. He had three beautiful children, three grandchildren, five stepchildren, several stepgrandchildren and greats who lovingly called him their PaDon! Don reached the highest rank of the Fraternal Order of Moose, that of Pilgrim Brother, and served in several offices of that organization; at the time of his death he was Administrative Trainer. His special passion was Moosehaven, the home in Moosehart, Illinois for children and teen-agers who need a home, The Moose tribute to him was very impressive. My brother was definitely a Christian, and loved Christian music and country music. We had a Gospel hymn sing with the family on Thanksgivng night, three weeks before his death. He and his wife, Dorothy, both suffered several illnesses and disabilities, especially the last few years of their lives, but they both kept going and doing as long as possible! To me he was my little brother, two and one-half years younger, who liked to aggravate me (and succeeded!) and he was the little brother I tried to keep straight but never did! He is the first to start completing the circle of our family in Heaven with our Mom and Dad! How do I know this? Was he perfect? No! Were they perfect? No! Am I perfect? No! I John 5:13 says These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe (more fully) on the name of the Son of God. JESUS is the reason for the SEASON!! We will miss Dons mischief, his presence, his smile, his hearty laugh and his always wanting sausage, biscuits and gravy on Friday morning after Thanksgiving!! We love you, Don! UNTIL THEN!!
