Our family tradition began today on December 20th celebrating my sister Lindas birthday at dinner, with Grandma and Grandpa Sears and Uncle Allan. Then Dad and Uncle Allan would set up the tree and put the lights on. I remember the bubbler lights how they fascinated me to no end. While all that was going on the ladies would gather in the kitchen to wash dinner dishes and then decorate Lindas cake. We had all these beautiful old ornaments that were in old brittle cardboard boxes and Mom would fuss over each and every one of them because they came from hers and Uncle Allans childhood. Then she would bring our own home made special ornaments and fuss over each one like they were prized gold pieces. We had a tree in which I found a birds nest in and that thing got put on the tree every year till it literally fell apart. It was a very special day in our house because we had 2 reasons to celebrate and we always made it a big occasion. Those big family celebrations have gotten smaller over the years as relatives have passed on but those memories will be cherished in my heart and will always be remembered. Love and miss my family so much. To all you crackers: Cherish each family member, make wonderful memories and dont forget to tell them that you love them, say it often. Merry Christmas Yall.
