Our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of Palestinians - Nelson Mandela On Monday, March 24th, from 12-3, there will be a protest of the Israeli Block Party on the East Mall. The Block Party is an annual celebration of Israel that does not acknowledge Israel as a nation built of Western imperialism and settler-colonialism, as a nation that maintains itself through a system of apartheid that systematically segregates, terrorizes, disenfranchises, and starves the Palestinian people of not only the resources necessary for daily living, but of recognition of their basic humanity. To host this Block Party and explicitly leave out these realities is to willfully misinform the UT public and is an insult to the continued suffering of Palestinians. Our protest seeks to provide a voice of truth to the discussion of Israel. We cannot allow the occupation of Palestine to be so flagrantly ignored. Please come out and join us.
