The sudden sighting of a Desert Wheatear at Rajarhat of Kolkata created much excitement among the Kolkata birders few months back. I also had the privilage to photograph this lovely bird. This bird is found in the arid regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The arrival of this desert dweller in Kolkata far away from its territory is still a mystery.
