Our ignorance does not change historic facts. People like Lord Mountbatten, constitutional experts like Mohammed Ali Jinnah and many other experts agree that after end of the British Raj, 15 August 1947, all the Princely States that did not accede to India or Pakistan, legally became independent. Under the British these States were semi independent. Jammu and Kashmir did not accede to any country, hence achieved its sovereignty on 15 August 1947. This sovereignty was threatened by Pakistan with the tribal attack on 22 Oct 1947; and was lost on 26 Oct when the Ruler of JK provisionally acceded to India. These are historical facts and if someone due to lack of intellect or lack of historical knowledge does not accept this, he/she is only expressing his/her ignorance.
